Alla Tre Fontane, sopra il bosco prima di Tiolo, si diceva vivesse un serpente mostruoso con cresta, zampe d’anatroccolo e pelle rugosa. Il suo alito bruciava le piante e incantava le persone per poi succhiarne sangue e vita. Due ragazzi lo incontrarono nel bosco e rimasero paralizzati dalla paura. Un vecchio cercò di salvarli ma fu pietrificato dal serpente. Un giovane accorse, riuscì a ferire il mostro con un colpo di fucile e, con l’aiuto della gente del paese, il serpente venne ucciso. I ragazzi e il vecchio si ripresero lentamente, ma rimasero profondamente scossi.

Two boys encountered it in the woods and were paralyzed with fear. An old man tried to rescue them but was petrified by the serpent’s breath. A young man arrived, shot the creature with his rifle, and wounded it. With the help of the villagers, armed with sticks and tools, the monster was finally killed.
The grass around was scorched, and although the boys and the old man eventually recovered, they were left deeply shaken.
