Ferdinando was the son of Bortolo’s son Battista and daughter in law Angela. He was happy because with the birth of a male the Lecchi dynasty would have continued, after four granddaughters. While walking with his grandfather, the little boy Bortolo was nicknamed Bortolino by friends and fellow countrymen, because he was Bortolo's grandson and he was called "il Lino" in town. Il Lino would have become Antonio Lecchi's father.
